Chronic Pain/Back Pain Relief

Non-Invasive Back Pain Relief in St. Louis Park

Your back pain is unique to you, and so is the path to relief. We may need to explore a combination of powerful therapies to uncover the perfect solution. Your feedback is crucial to this journey—together, we’ll discover the precise treatment plan that works for you.

PNT is the alternative to standard chiropractic care, which involves direct spinal manipulation with forceful adjustments.

My comprehensive approach is gentle, using treatments such as:

  • Pain Neutralization Technique (PNT): This gentle, drug-free alternative to traditional medical treatments is a non-invasive therapy that uses light pressure to quickly diffuse pain signals and trigger points without forceful manipulation. This technique works to release tension and can be particularly effective for chronic pain and spasms.
  • Neuromuscular Therapy, Myofascial Release Therapy, and Trigger Point Therapy are hands-on techniques that work synergistically to reduce pain and restore function in the body. By carefully locating areas of muscle tightness, restriction, and tender trigger points, these therapies use targeted, therapeutic pressure and gentle manual manipulation to release knots and adhesions that can cause local and referred pain.
  • Myofascial Release Therapy focuses on the fascia—the body’s connective tissue—stretching and softening it to free up movement and relieve chronic tension. Trigger Point Therapy zeroes in on hyperirritable spots within muscles, gently deactivating them to reduce pain and restore normal muscle tone. Neuromuscular Therapy combines these approaches while also assessing nerve involvement, postural imbalance, and overall patterns of muscle dysfunction, helping to retrain the nervous system and promote long-term relief. Together, these therapies not only ease discomfort but also improve flexibility, circulation, and overall musculoskeletal health, supporting the body’s natural healing process.
  • Trigger Point Therapy: Lower back spasms are often caused by “trigger points,” which are tight, hyper-irritable knots in the muscle. This therapy uses precise pressure to target these knots to release tension, restore proper muscle function, and alleviate both localized and referred pain. No surgery. No harsh adjustments. Just lasting results you can feel.
  • Manual Therapy: Hands-on treatment to improve mobility and reduce pain.
  • Kinesiology Assessment: Locates and addresses muscle weaknesses contributing to pain.
  • Natural Force Healing: Uses gentle vibrations to encourage rapid tissue healing.
  • Craniosacral Therapy: While it is a gentle technique, it can be effective for chronic back pain by releasing tension in the fascia and improving the function of the central nervous system.
  • Lymphatic Drainage Therapy: This is less likely to be a primary treatment for muscle spasms, as its main purpose is to reduce swelling and improve lymphatic flow. While a healthy lymphatic system supports overall healing, it doesn’t directly address the muscle tension and knots that cause spasms.

What conditions does PNT help?

Low back pain

When you experience lower back pain, shoulder pain, or spasms, it’s often more than just a tight muscle. It’s frequently caused by a vicious cycle of muscle tension, inflammation, and nerve irritation. Manual therapies such as Trigger Point Therapy and Pain Neutralization Techniques (PNT) are highly effective because they break this cycle by targeting the root causes, offering a path to lasting relief rather than just a temporary fix. It’s time to stop simply enduring your pain and start addressing its source. Don’t let chronic spasms control your life; take the decisive step toward lasting comfort and freedom of movement.

“This review is long overdue, but several years ago, I was experiencing deep pain in my lower back that was not structural and wasn’t relieved by regular means. I felt it was stress related, as I had just lost my father. Byron was able to help me shift the pain in just one visit, although I went back for a second session to make sure I got it all. I love that he uses different alternative techniques and has a variety of approaches to meet everyone’s needs. I would highly recommend him to anyone.”

“When I’ve had spasms in my back and shoulder, my first step is to get an appointment with Byron to address the acute pain, which in my experience has been close to 95-98% resolved just in one visit. My second step is to meet with my physical therapist to figure out the underlying muscular imbalances that caused my body to spasm in the first place, since a spasm is typically your body’s way of protecting an injury or overworked area of muscles or joints. I also find that monthly or at least intermittent ‘tune ups’ with Byron are important to overall physical maintenance. You have to give your body regular maintenance, just as you would any machine, like your car!”
